Building on the Open Canvas Working Group&#8217;s development of the Open Canvas Interchange Format (OCIF), this group will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify web platform requirements for infinite canvas applications<\/li>\n<li>Develop interoperability standards for infinite canvas data exchange<\/li>\n<li>Explore integration points with existing W3C specifications (SVG, Canvas APIs, Web Components, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The group aims to establish how existing web standards can better support infinite canvas use cases and where new standardization efforts may be beneficial, fostering an ecosystem where different infinite canvas tools can interoperate seamlessly on the web platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to <a href=\"\/community\/infinite-canvas\/join\">join the group<\/a>, you will need\n    a <a\n            href=\"\/account\/request\/\">W3C account<\/a>. Please note, however, that <a\n            href=\"\/community\/about\/faq\/#is-w3c-membership-required-to-participate-in-a-community-or-business-group\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">W3C\n        Membership<\/a> is not required to join a Community Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a community initiative. This group was originally proposed on 2025-10-28 by\n    Orion Reed. The following people supported its creation: Amir Hameed Mir, Muezza Wani, Orion Reed, Jess Martin and Michael Greig.\n    W3C&#8217;s hosting of this group does not imply endorsement of the activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group must now <a href=\"\/community\/about\/faq\/#how-do-we-choose-a-chair\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">choose a chair<\/a>.
