{"id":9,"date":"2018-11-21T09:03:39","date_gmt":"2018-11-21T09:03:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/w3c-women\/?p=9"},"modified":"2018-11-21T09:03:39","modified_gmt":"2018-11-21T09:03:39","slug":"call-for-participation-in-the-w3c-inclusion-and-diversity-community-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/idcg\/2018\/11\/21\/call-for-participation-in-the-w3c-inclusion-and-diversity-community-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Participation in the W3C Inclusion and Diversity Community Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At our 22 October 2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/2018\/10\/22-w3cwomen-minutes.html\">meeting<\/a> during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/2018\/10\/TPAC\/\">TPAC 2018<\/a>, we agreed to change the name and scope of the W3C Women CG and to enable everyone to participate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We&#8217;re now the W3C Inclusion and Diversity Community Group (IDCG)!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve converged on the following mission statement:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The mission of the W3C Inclusion and Diversity Community Group (ID CG) is to increase the presence of under-represented groups at the W3C, and strengthen W3C culture by supporting diversity. To serve this mission, the CG will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>    provide a space to share experiences and information;<\/li>\n<li>produce best practices and use case documents regarding gathering data, reporting\/feedback mechanisms, and practical ways to support each other;<\/li>\n<li>advise the W3C Management (W3M), Advisory Board (AB), Advisory Committee (AC), and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/pwe\/\">Positive Work Environment CG<\/a> about potential enhancements to our working environment to better support inclusion and diversity.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This group will not produce Specifications.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In order to <a href=\"\/community\/w3c-women\/join\">join the group<\/a>, a <a href=\"\/accounts\/request\">W3C account<\/a> is needed. <a href=\"\/community\/about\/faq\/#is-w3c-membership-required-to-participate-in-a-community-or-business-group\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">W3C Membership<\/a> is not required to join a Community Group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At our 22 October 2018 meeting during TPAC 2018, we agreed to change the name and scope of the W3C Women CG and to enable everyone to participate.
