{"id":3,"date":"2024-03-15T08:55:39","date_gmt":"2024-03-15T08:55:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/global-inclusion\/2024\/03\/15\/call-for-participation-in-accessibility-internationalization-community-group\/"},"modified":"2024-03-15T08:55:39","modified_gmt":"2024-03-15T08:55:39","slug":"call-for-participation-in-accessibility-internationalization-community-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/global-inclusion\/2024\/03\/15\/call-for-participation-in-accessibility-internationalization-community-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Participation in Accessibility Internationalization Community Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"\/community\/global-inclusion\/\">Accessibility Internationalization Community Group<\/a> has been launched:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The mission of the Accessibility Internationalization Community Group is to improve the internationalization of:<br \/>\n-The Cognitive and Learning Disabilities Accessibility (COGA) Task Force<br \/>\n-The Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (AG) <\/p>\n<p>Scope<br \/>\nThe Accessibility Internationalization Community Group will include the following efforts:<br \/>\n-Improve the internationalization of COGA  and AG publications.<br \/>\n-Develop criteria and tests for easy-to-understand language in different languages.<br \/>\n-Develop criteria and tests for text appearance and semantics in different writing systems<br \/>\n-Develop criteria and tests for additional guidance that changes based on additional language, writing system, or culture. <\/p>\n<p>The community group\u2019s initial focus is to help internationalize two accessibility resources that are currently in development:<br \/>\n-The next version of Making Content Usable for People with Cognitive and Learning Disabilities<br \/>\n-WCAG 3.0, with two guidelines as the top priorities: \u201cClear Language\u201d and \u201cText Appearance and Semantics,\u201d which will have tests and criteria in different languages.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>In order to <a href=\"\/community\/global-inclusion\/join\">join the group<\/a>, you will need a <a href=\"\/accounts\/request\">W3C account<\/a>. Please note, however, that <a href=\"\/community\/about\/faq\/#is-w3c-membership-required-to-participate-in-a-community-or-business-group\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">W3C Membership<\/a> is not required to join a Community Group.<\/p>\n<p>This is a community initiative. This group was originally proposed on 2024-03-14 by Lisa Seeman-Horwitz. The following people supported its creation: Lisa Seeman-Horwitz, Leandro S. Guedes, Jan McSorley, Rachael Bradley Montgomery, Tiffany Burtin. W3C&#8217;s hosting of this group does not imply endorsement of the activities.<\/p>\n<p>The group must now <a href=\"\/community\/about\/faq\/#how-do-we-choose-a-chair\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">choose a chair<\/a>.
