{"id":68,"date":"2021-09-23T21:26:32","date_gmt":"2021-09-23T21:26:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/design-tokens\/?p=68"},"modified":"2022-06-14T16:47:19","modified_gmt":"2022-06-14T16:47:19","slug":"call-to-read-the-first-public-editors-draft-and-share-feedback","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/design-tokens\/2021\/09\/23\/call-to-read-the-first-public-editors-draft-and-share-feedback\/","title":{"rendered":"Call to read the First Public Editor\u2019s Draft and share feedback"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Over the past several months, the team collaborated with multiple design tool vendors to draft the format module of the Design Tokens specification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re now inviting everyone in the community to <a href=\"https:\/\/first-editors-draft.tr.designtokens.org\/format\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">read the First Public Editor\u2019s Draft<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/design-tokens\/community-group\/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+sort%3Aupdated-desc+label%3A%22Format+Issue%22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">join the conversation on GitHub<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to everyone in the community and to all vendors who helped in reaching this milestone. We can\u2019t wait to keep working with you and build the future of design tokens together!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s next?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Editors will compile community feedback and work to reach a consensus on every issue that\u2019s been raised. Expect the draft to change a lot during this step.<\/li><li>Once critical issues are solved, we\u2019ll publish a&nbsp;<strong>First Working Draft<\/strong>. Expect rare edits to normative sections of the Working Draft. At this stage, the specification can be used to build implementations. We\u2019ll be collecting more feedback from vendors, tool developers, plugins\/extension developers.<\/li><li>Once multiple vendors have implementations that follow the Working Draft, we\u2019ll move to Final Specification.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>During steps 2 and 3, the W3C will review the reports to exclude any risk of intellectual property infringement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In parallel, we\u2019ll work on other modules that depend on the Format Module, such as Colors, Motion, Typography.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past several months, the team collaborated with multiple design tool vendors to draft the format module of the Design Tokens specification.
