{"id":50,"date":"2015-08-23T12:00:09","date_gmt":"2015-08-23T12:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/cv2\/?p=50"},"modified":"2015-08-23T13:56:56","modified_gmt":"2015-08-23T13:56:56","slug":"proposal-general-workflow-and-filename-extension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/cv2\/2015\/08\/23\/proposal-general-workflow-and-filename-extension\/","title":{"rendered":"Proposal: General Workflow and Filename Extension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As described in the <a href=\"https:\/\/lists.w3.org\/Archives\/Public\/public-cv2\/2015Aug\/0005.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">e-mail<\/a> to the public list, I propose the following general workflow and file extension for a CV 2.0.<\/p>\n<h2>Workflow<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/cv2\/files\/2015\/08\/cv2_explanation.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-52\" src=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/cv2\/files\/2015\/08\/cv2_explanation-1024x383.png\" alt=\"CV2 Community Group proposed workflow\" width=\"640\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/cv2\/files\/2015\/08\/cv2_explanation-1024x383.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/cv2\/files\/2015\/08\/cv2_explanation-300x112.png 300w, https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/cv2\/files\/2015\/08\/cv2_explanation.png 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><mark>Proposal: textual file\u00a0format that can be exported into semantic HTML, SVG, and other file formats as well as a specification on how to convert it back<\/mark><\/p>\n<p>If the\u00a0proposal is accepted, these are the follow-up tasks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>define <strong>tags<\/strong> &#8211; main part of our specification<\/li>\n<li>write <strong>code<\/strong> for transformation that can be reused by developers who want\u00a0to implement our specification<\/li>\n<li>design example <strong>templates<\/strong> in SVG<\/li>\n<li>write <strong>use cases<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Filename Extension<\/h2>\n<p>Similar to .html, .css, .svg, and other formats, I also propose that we use a file extension called .cv2 that enables us to distinguish our specified resume tags from other text formats. Like HTML, CSS, and other source code, it is obviously a text file that is then parsed by software that understands this format.<\/p>\n<p><mark>Proposal: .cv2 as file extension name<\/mark><\/p>\n<h2>FYI<\/h2>\n<p>According to the charter (section Decision Process), we need a group consensus or at least a 2\/3 majority vote on this proposal where agreement as well as silence implies consensus.<\/p>\n<p>If no objections arrive by <strong>August 31<sup>st<\/sup> 2015<\/strong>, this proposal is regarded as accepted. A small reminder: if you agree, please reply to the public mailing list &#8211; if all participants agree or disagree\u00a0before the 31<sup>st<\/sup> of August, we can already move forward with our work.
