{"id":3,"date":"2018-04-19T14:52:15","date_gmt":"2018-04-19T14:52:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/audio-description\/2018\/04\/19\/call-for-participation-in-audio-description-community-group\/"},"modified":"2018-04-19T14:52:15","modified_gmt":"2018-04-19T14:52:15","slug":"call-for-participation-in-audio-description-community-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/audio-description\/2018\/04\/19\/call-for-participation-in-audio-description-community-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Participation in Audio Description Community Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"\/community\/audio-description\/\">Audio Description Community Group<\/a> has been launched:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Mission: To create an open standard file format to support audio description all the way from scripting to mixing.<\/p>\n<p>Scope: To agree requirements and propose a workable open standard file format for audio description, probably a profile of TTML2, with the intention of moving to the Rec track within a Working Group.<\/p>\n<p>Deliverables:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Requirements document<\/li>\n<li>Draft specification document<\/li>\n<li>Explainer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>In order to <a href=\"\/community\/audio-description\/join\">join the group<\/a>, you will need a <a href=\"\/accounts\/request\">W3C account<\/a>. Please note, however, that <a href=\"\/community\/about\/faq\/#is-w3c-membership-required-to-participate-in-a-community-or-business-group\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">W3C Membership<\/a> is not required to join a Community Group.<\/p>\n<p>This is a community initiative. This group was originally proposed on 2018-04-05 by Nigel Megitt. The following people supported its creation: Nigel Megitt, Mike Dolan, Chris O&#039;Brien, Gradimir Kragi\u0107, Gandharv Bhagat, Gian Wild, Marisa DeMeglio, Sally Cain, John Paton, John Birch, Matthew Paradis, Owen Edwards, Jonathan Penny. W3C&#8217;s hosting of this group does not imply endorsement of the activities.<\/p>\n<p>The group must now <a href=\"\/community\/about\/faq\/#how-do-we-choose-a-chair\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">choose a chair<\/a>.
