{"id":16,"date":"2013-06-04T21:13:25","date_gmt":"2013-06-04T21:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/argmntreprsnt\/?p=16"},"modified":"2013-06-04T21:59:44","modified_gmt":"2013-06-04T21:59:44","slug":"state-of-argument-representation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/community\/argmntreprsnt\/2013\/06\/04\/state-of-argument-representation\/","title":{"rendered":"State of argument representation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First, I&#8217;m very much aware that there&#8217;s more going on in software and formats than I can personally keep track of. \u00a0So please, everybody, feel free to comment with corrections and updates.<\/p>\n<p>That said, as I see it, the situation as we begin this group is this. \u00a0There are or have recently been several strong contenders for a standard format. \u00a0We are not bound to recommend one, modified or otherwise, but \u00a0for background I&#8217;ll list the popular ones to the best of my knowledge:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One formerly popular format, AML, has been cut loose by Araucaria.<\/li>\n<li>AIF has become a popular representation format, probably the most popular at the moment. \u00a0It does a number of things right in my opinion.<\/li>\n<li>LKIF is also fairly popular. \u00a0One issue with LKIF is that it is not primarily an argumentation format; argument representation is one module among many. \u00a0One the other hand, it has the virtue of having &#8220;work experience&#8221;, as it were, in representing contentious real world legal arguments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First, I&#8217;m very much aware that there&#8217;s more going on in software and formats than I can personally keep track of. \u00a0So please, everybody, feel free to comment with corrections and updates.
