{"id":1054,"date":"2010-04-13T16:19:20","date_gmt":"2010-04-13T16:19:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/blog\/Internationaltmp\/2010\/04\/13\/character_encoding_tests_updated\/"},"modified":"2010-04-13T16:19:20","modified_gmt":"2010-04-13T16:19:20","slug":"character_encoding_tests_updated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/blog\/International\/2010\/04\/13\/character_encoding_tests_updated\/","title":{"rendered":"Character encoding tests updated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/International\/tests\/tests-html-css\/list-encoding-html-css\">HTML and CSS character encoding tests<\/a> in the Internationalization Activity test suite have been updated as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>new tests were added to examine behaviour related to the byte-order mark and better represent the current detection algorithm for HTML5<\/li>\n<li>HTML5 was added as a new test format<\/li>\n<li>tests now use strict DOCTYPEs<\/li>\n<li>results pages were updated to reflect latest browser version behaviour, and to make it easier to see the assertions used for the tests<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other changes behind the scenes include gathering of all tests into a single PHP file (generatehtml.php is no longer used).
