Multiple word processor formats

• Cyberleaf from Interleaf (for Unix, and real soon now for Windows NT). Converts Interleaf, FrameMaker, Microsoft Word RTF, WordPerfect and ASCII formats. It also converts graphics to GIF or PostScript.
• HTML Transit from InfoAccess (for Windows). Offers direct translation of Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, WordPro (AmiPro), FrameMaker and Interleaf formats. as well as ASCII text and RTF. Supports the major graphics formats.
• Web Publisher from SkiSoft (for Windows 3.1 and later) will convert RTF and MIF formats.
• KEYview for Windows from Keyword/FTP Software allows conversion of a wide range of formats. Contact: jpark@ftp.com (Janice Park)

MS Word / RTF

• rtftohtml (may also still be available at old site at Cray). Produces HTML from documents containing graphics, tables, text and equations. Runs on UNIX, Macintosh, DOS, OS/2. • CU_HTML.DOT is a Word for Windows 2.0 and 6.0 document template that allows users to create HTML documents inside Word in a WYSIWYG manner and generate a corresponding HTML file. Contact: anton-lam@cuhk.hk
• GT_HTML.DOT is an alpha release by Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) of a set of Microsoft Word for Windows macros to facilitate HTML document authoring. • latex2html LaTeX to HTML converter program - not only does it successfully show the more complex LaTeX formatting, for example for mathematics, but it also has a set of iconic images, which are included for navigation, and to mark footnotes and references. • Another bib2html is a Perl script with style file. It takes a BibTeX bibliography and formats it into HTML. It can also create links to arbitrary URLs and PostScript, PDF, or DVI versions of the papers. It comes with a CGI script to allow the bibliography to be searched. • There is a Tcl script for the Mac text editor Alpha to do .bbl to HTML conversions.

• BeyondPress (formerly Gateway) from Astrobyte is an XTension which translates QuarkXPress documents to HTML. Contact: info@astrobyte.com.
• Collect HTML from Logic n.v. is an XTension that allows you to convert text from Quark pages into HTML format. Styles can be converted into HTML pre- and suffixes. Collect is not well suited to convert complete Quark pages; it better suited to 'clip' articles from large pages (e.g. a newspaper) for Web publication.
• E-Gate will take QuarkXpress files and generate either structured ASCII or HTML files, as well as JPEG or GIF formats for graphics. It will also structure information so that it can be saved in a database and re-used.
• Several export filter kits are also available.

PageMaker

• Dave is an AppleScript script that works with PageMaker 5.0 to extract articles and convert them to HTML. Contact: boulter@bucknell.edu (Jeff Boulter)
• WebSucker is a HyperCard stack for Mac which takes stories (ie text) from Pagemaker 5.0 and turns them into HTML files. It creates a table of contents of all the stories, categorizes them like newspaper sections, and optionally puts a picture atop the stories. New release version 2.7.
• PM2html is a PageMaker addition for Windows available from EDCO in freeware and production versions.
• pm2html is another PageMaker addition.
• Adobe PageMaker 6.0 has an HTML Author plug-in that lets PageMaker users export PageMaker publications into HTML format.

Linuxdoc-SGML

Linuxdoc-SGML is a text-formatting package based on SGML that will produce HTML as well as other marked up documents.

Rainbow

Rainbow is an annotated SGML DTD with converters for word processer documents (in RTF format) and documents created by the Ventura Publisher and Quark Express DTP packages. Additional software is needed to convert the SGML into HTML.
