Success Criterion 1.1.1 - Non-text Content: All non-text content that is presented to the user has a text alternative that serves the equivalent purpose (Level A):

• Note 1: applies to any non-text content
• Note 2: "that is presented to the user"
• Note 3: "serves the equivalent purpose"

Conclusions

• Images of text - need to convey the actual text
• Informative images - need to convey the information
  Note: may need longer or shorter descriptions
• Functional images - need to convey the function
• Decorative images - need to have null (empty) alt
