New URI schemes
Authors of specifications SHOULD NOT introduce a new URI scheme when an existing scheme provides the desired properties of identifiers and their relation to resources.
Making a new URI scheme that is exactly the same as HTTP except it has a different name, to hack around MIME dispatch issues, stopped being funny a long time ago.
