Description:

There have been suggestions in the past that tiled images could be tiled from a given position to the edge, rather than over the full width or height of the element.

Elika and Bert decided that there were no use cases for that and that the suggestion probably reflects an incorrect interpretation of the CSS1 specification rather than a real wish to see this behavior. See http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/w3c-css-wg/2008JanMar/0153.html
