Status

• Rewrote specification into ISL
  • IDL cannot express the necessary asynchrony; proposals for such asynchronous methods are before OMG at this time

• Looks like ILU may be usable
  • pluggable/stackable protocols and transports, and asynchronous messages make this feasible

• Uncovered a number of weaknesses in ILU
  • Xerox will be adding some additional features to allow a cleaner specification and implementation
    • Need to subclass enumerations
    • Need some sort of futures/closures mechanism
    • Additional hooks into protocol/transport layers, e.g. for encryption
    • We'll see as we get into implementation...
