Conventional GPS Receiver Operation
A Conventional GPS Receiver:
Demodulates the 50 baud satellite navigation messages to determine:
- time of day very precisely (GPS)
- exact location of satellites in orbit (ephemeris & almanac information)
Measures the distance to 3 or more satellites by measuring the time of arrival (TOA) of the satellite signals
Calculates latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, and bearing
