	Advice to users of development versions of the software (V2 & DEV).

Version 2 of the RPC software for the VAX is now nominally stable: this means
is does not get any more features, only back-compatible bug fixes if essential.
The version is known as V2.0.  The command (on VXCRNA) @DISK$DD:[RPC]RPC now
invokes version 2.0.

(The login command @[rpc.v2]setup is obsolete and should not be used. The
development version @[rpc]rpcdev will continue to exist but will continue to
evolve, and so should only be used by those developing RPC software.) 


To ensure your files are compatible with version 2.0, 

	1.	Regenerate all stub modules, and
	2.	Recompile any modules directly calling the rpc kernel.


The diferences between versions 1 and 2 (mostly added features) are described
in the new version of the RPC manual. Mail me if you want a copy, or for a
copy without diagrams, if you are at CERN, on VXCRNA use

	$XSCRIPT/NEW/OPT="CPI=12 PASS=2"/...  -
		DISK$DD:[TIMBL.DOC]RPCUSER.TXT

where /... selects a multifont laserprinter (eg /DEV=APA6670/BAT=513 for the
one in building 513 or /DEV=I3812/NAME=DD31A for the one in building 31).
