XLink

• A namespace (usually prefixed as xlink)
• Attributes in that namespace define linking semantics
• Two classes of Linking elements:
  • simple (HTML like)
  • extended
• XLink processor understands the constructs
• Application defines the behaviour
• XLink not just for browsers
