It is not explicitely stated which MIME-types can or should be used for these obsolete permitted doctypes.

For example: I guess that it is not allowed to use MIME-type text/html with the doctype string for XHTML 1.0 Strict. Correct?</thetext>

    <thetext>The MIME type to use doesn&apos;t depend on the DOCTYPE.  It depends on whether the document is to be treated as HTML or XHTML.

Technically, if you&apos;re using XHTML 1.0, then you should use an XML MIME type.  Though, if you use text/html, like most people do, then the document will be treated as HTML.

This is not a bug in the spec, resolving invalid.</thetext>
