    <thetext>In the attributes index table, recommend linking to the text syntax[1] where &quot;Text&quot; appears in the value column (even if it has an asterisk next to it, which should not be included in the link).

    <thetext>Reopening with the same rationale as bug 9493; clearly I was wrong about what should be linked to (thanks for catching that), but _something_ needs to define &quot;text&quot; more clearly; as it is, the user of the spec casts around for more rules.

In fact, most of what I wrote in that bug really should have gone here, please see comment #3[1].
