    <thetext>Didn&apos;t see any document metadata via &lt;meta&gt; tags inside the
document itself.

Could also add a &lt;link&gt; entry providing a document icon, which is
helpful in tabbed browsers.</thetext>

    <thetext>perhaps this is a deficiency in the pubrules.  certainly one might reasonably expect the HTML5 Recommendation to follow best practices for document metadata since it is such an important HTML example itself.</thetext>

    <thetext>It&apos;s totally a deficiency of the pubrules, but I&apos;ve given up trying to change their mind on this. If you want to see a version of HTML5 that uses HTML5, the WHATWG have one at  http://whatwg.org/html5 .</thetext>
