That is, it avoids having to append prefixes to differentiate between representations (e.g. .txt, .pdf, .doc) by using the standard HTTP content negotiation mechanism (Accept: headers) and MIME types rather than by constructing a separate URL for each. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 8096 ***
