<thetext>A new draft of Media Queries has been published. This no longer allows the empty string or a series whitespace characters as being a valid media query. HTML5 needs the following changes:

1. Its concept of "valid media query" should stay the same. (The change is that the empty string and a series of whitespace characters becomes non-conforming.)

2. It needs a concept of parsing a media query value that should probably be used by
, , , and . This should treat the empty string or a string consisting of just whitespace characters as meaning "all" for backwards compatibility. Everything else should be parsed as per the Media Queries specification.

3. needs to be updated to state that if the attribute is omitted it defaults to all.
