The specification permits these facets but states that they are deprecated, and attaches no meaning to them. The expected test results appear to assume that the facets will be ignored (for example the value xthe:aand-be.qua is considered valid when the schema specifies a maxLength of 1). If the specification intends that these facets should be ignored, then it should say so. Since the spec as written doesn't say what a processor should do with them, it would be better for the tests to be removed, or for the results to be flagged in some way as undefined. 20637 1 mike 2008-06-20 14:20:05 +0000 Schema 1.0 Part 2 section 4.3.1.3, Validation Rule: Length Valid, clause 1.3, and parallel rules for minLength and maxLength make clear that the length, minLength, and maxLength facets on QName are effectively ignored, so these test cases are indeed valid and the bug is therefore closed as invalid.
