<thetext>Section 5.3 says that if there's an XPath syntax (or other static) error in
the expression between curlies in an AVT, the error codes are as defined by
XPath.

But Section 5.6 defines an XSLT error code for this situation: error
XTSE0360.

<thetext>The XSL Working Group discussed this at its meeting on 8 Dec 2005 and accepted
the principle that where there is an error in an XPath expression, XSLT should
report the XPath error code rather than overriding this with its own. Error
XTSE0360 therefore disappears.</thetext>
