    <thetext>I&apos;m not sure what the preferred naming convention is, but looking at existing event names [1][2], not many end in &quot;ed&quot;. In addition, &quot;close&quot; is already used for other objects, so it seems odd to add &quot;closed&quot;.

&quot;close&quot;, &quot;error&quot;, and &quot;message&quot; already exist. &quot;ready&quot; and &quot;needkey&quot; are new.


As an aside, MSE also uses &quot;close&quot; on the MediaSource object but also has &quot;ended&quot;. I&apos;m not sure why. (The events actually have a &quot;source&quot; prefix, which is unfortunate.)
