> Consider changing "selectedness" to "selected state", "checkedness" to
> "checked state", "well-formedness" to "validation".

"Well-formedness" and "validation" are different things.

> Idioms and made-up words do not work well with translators.

The HTML spec is huge and is being changed all the time. It seems implausible that any translation could keep up. On the other hand, out of date translations would be actively harmful. Therefore, it doesn't seem to make sense to make the language more cumbersome to cater for translations.</thetext>

Status: Rejected
Change Description: none
Rationale: Some concepts do require made-up words, and in any case it is not clear to me that appending -ness is minting a word as it is fairly common practice.</thetext>
