<thetext>Both JIS keyboard layout for PC and Mac has "Eisu" (英数) key.

However, they are really different keys.

For PC, the key is shared with CapsLock key physically (Shift + Eisu is CapsLock, typically). And there is no common use of this key. What happens with the key press depends on IME. It seems that "Alphanumeric" modifier key is good for this.

On the other hand, the function of the key for Mac's JIS keyboard is clear. It turns off (closes) IME. However, there is no key names for such function key.

So, should we use "Alphanumeric" key for it too? Or need to define new key name?</thetext>

<thetext>I would be happy with a new keyname since the functionality is different.

Do you have a suggestion for the keyname? "ExitIME" and "CloseIME" don't sound quite right to me, but I can't think of any better names.</thetext>

<thetext>I tested the key behavior more.

First, an IME mode is also a keyboard layout on Mac. I.e., open/close IME is actually switching between ASCII capable keyboard layout and a keyboard layout with IME.

Then, the Eisu key switches the keyboard layout to the latest selected ASCII capable keyboard layout. So, "SelectASCIICapableKeyboardLayout"?

We should think this with bug 21140?</thetext>

<thetext>I added an "Eisu" key with a note that the exact function varies based on the IME.</thetext>
