    <thetext>We have a terminology clash between CSS and MIME: &quot;media type&quot; is ambiguous. The path of least resistance is probably to move MIME-related specs towards &quot;MIME type&quot; and leave &quot;media type&quot; for CSS.</thetext>

    <thetext>I did this back in March, but forgot to push the commit to GitHub:

This was essentially a find and replace, so if you see any terminology conflicts, feel free to reopen this bug, but I think I can close it. From now on, mimesniff will used terms derived from &quot;MIME type&quot; and leave &quot;media type&quot; to CSS.</thetext>
