In the recent face-to-face meeting of the Full-Text Task Force, the TF resolved to adopt a revised syntax for scoring. We expect to publish a revised public working draft in the next 4 or 5 weeks (everybody's on vacation during August, it seems) that will contain the new syntax. When the document is available, we would be grateful if you would review it to determine whether it resolves your concern.
