So it would seem that in polyglot HTML, the attribute specification for a boolean attribute such as autofocus cannot consist of the attribute name alone, even though that would be legal in HTML. The W3C HTML5 validator seems to agree with this assessment (see attachment). But as far as I can tell, the HTML/XHTML Compatibility Authoring Guide does not mention this issue, nor has this been posted as a bug to the guide. 62539 1 davidc 2012-01-11 09:34:39 +0000 [non editor comment] The polyglot spec details the extra constraints that a document that is well formed xml and valid html needs to satisfy in order that an xml and html parser produce equivalent parse trees.
