XForms specifications already allow to use "file://", in submissions for example, to access files on local disks. Defining, for example, "localstorage://" or "sessionstorage://" would avoid different names for different implementations. This is not a proposed modification for the WebStorage specifications but an extension allowing to access such storages with an URL. Browsers could even display storages this way. Thanks!
