    <thetext>All browsers I&apos;ve tested have pre.width being a long instead of an unsigned long, the only exception being Firefox. I do not see any reason why the spec requests Gecko&apos;s behavior for an obsoleted feature.

We should probably have pre.width being a long in the specs. Gecko will follow.</thetext>

    <thetext>Simple test case: open the URL, if the alert shows &apos;0&apos; pre.width is an unsigned long. If it shows &apos;-1&apos;, it&apos;s a long.</thetext>
