<thetext>Specification: http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/WD-html5-20110525/Overview.html
Section: http://www.whatwg.org/specs/web-apps/current-work/#top

Comment:
I found two useful references to XHTML5 in this document:
1.6 HTML vs XHTML States: " The second concrete syntax is the XHTML syntax,
which is an application of XML. When a document is transmitted with an XML
MIME type, such as application/xhtml+xml, then it is treated as an XML
document by Web browsers, to be parsed by an XML processor. Authors are
reminded that the processing for XML and HTML differs; in particular, even
minor syntax errors will prevent a document labeled as XML from being rendered
fully, whereas they would be ignored in the HTML syntax. This specification
defines version 5 of the XHTML syntax, known as "XHTML5"."

Section 2.1.2 XML States
To ease migration from HTML to XHTML, UAs conforming to this specification
will place elements in HTML in the http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml namespace, at
least for the purposes of the DOM and CSS. The term "HTML elements", when used
in this specification, refers to any element in that namespace, and thus
refers to both HTML and XHTML elements.
Since there have been many XML schemas created and these schemas are essential
to describing important data, such as medical data, how do we use these
elements or their datatypes in XHTML5? It would be extremely useful if these
XML schema datatypes could be used with the form elements of XHTML5
Thank you.
