For the attribute &quot;required&quot; of checkbox element,  I think it should be
defined as &quot;at least one is required&quot; but not &quot;which fields are required&quot;. So
it&apos;s better use the same constraint validation with the radio element. That is
if an element in the checkbox group is required, and all of the input elements
in the checkbox group have a checkedness that is false, then the element is
suffering from being missing.

Rationale: If you want a set of items from which the user is to select one or more, you want &lt;select multiple required&gt;. Check boxes (and indeed all &lt;input&gt; types other than radio buttons) are independent from each other regardless of whether they have common names.</thetext>
