It seems to originally be a proprietary IE invention, described in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms534135(v=vs.85).aspx While of course it should be invalid, the spec should say that loop="foo" is equivalent to marquee-loop: foo in CSS, see http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-box/#marquee-loop (This would mean that loop is a boolean attribute on <audio> and <video> but a numeric attribute on <marquee>, which is why I noticed the absence of <marquee loop> to begin with.) 47475 2 philipj 2011-04-15 17:27:44 +0000 Hmm, I shouldn't file bugs on Fridays... There is already a link. The rendering section uses the "increment the marquee current loop index" algorithm which uses the attribute.
