• Controlling of normal broadcast video: "play" and "pause" (locally).

• On-demand video: full control.

• DSM-CC UU (Digital Storage Media Command & Control User to User) stream interface specifies an API to control broadcast video.

• Currently no standard way to control broadcast video from HTML.
  • Need for common mechanism to control the video from HTML,i.e. call the appropriate DSM-CC UU methods.
