Abstract
Data spaces represent a transformative paradigm for secure data exchange, yet they remain hindered by a lack of standardized specifications and robust execution frameworks. To bridge this gap, this paper introduces a multi-phase workflow for policy enforcement embedded within the Eunomia Data Space Agent. Our approach dynamically translates ODRL policies into target enforcement languages tailored to distinct phases of the global data lifecycle. To ensure rigorous compliance, we establish a formal Policy Execution Point (PEP) for data access control, leveraging Communicating Sequential Processes (CSP) process algebra to formally verify and enforce behavioral constraints for the Policy eXecution Point (PXP) for the data usage control part. The proposed framework is fully integrated into the Eunomia Data Space Agent, which is scheduled for a public, open-source release in September 2026.
