There's one thing for the TTML Media Type and Profile Registry 15:06:04 .. an update on interop for WebVTT 15:06:19 .. TPAC planning - check the draft schedule 15:06:33 .. I don't know of any update on AI technologies 15:06:42 .. Any other business, or points to cover? 15:06:55 Present+ Chris_Needham 15:07:10 Pierre: Nothing from me on the agenda 15:07:16 Nigel: Thanks. 15:07:50 Topic: TPAC Planning 15:07:57 cpn has joined #tt 15:08:00 scribe+ cpn 15:08:16 -> https://www.w3.org/calendar/tpac2026/grid/ Draft TPAC schedule 15:09:06 Nigel: There's a draft TPAC schedule. TTWG meets most of the day on the Thursday (29 Oct), after the MEIG + TTWG + APAWG joint meeting 15:09:31 ... But that joint meeting is at the same time as AGWG, and ??. There might be an overlap of people 15:09:52 ... Media WG meets on Friday, no overlap 15:10:31 ... On Monday, MEIG is the first half, then there's a joint meeting after lunch. Audio WG meets all day Monday 15:11:00 ... This means we meet Monday, then Thursday and Friday. If this doesn't work for anybody, this is the time to give feedback 15:11:24 Gary: I won't be there in person, which means I'll only be able to join remotely in the afternoon (in TPAC time) 15:12:00 Nigel: Andreas said he'd prefer to meet towards the end of the week, so it works out for him 15:12:20 Gary: Demuxed hasn't been announced yet, and there's a possibility it will overlap 15:12:29 Nigel: I'll ask Phil not to do that! 15:13:19 Nigel: I'm not hearing reasons to ask for changes 15:13:46 ... I think they only want feedback if there are issues 15:13:47 Chris: Yes 15:13:54 Nigel: Anything else on TPAC? 15:13:57 (nothing) 15:14:07 Topic: TTML Media Type Definition and Profile Registry 15:14:21 Subtopic: Auto-publish status 15:14:33 Nigel: What's the status of this? 15:15:27 Atsushi: It will be working shortly 15:16:26 Nigel: Anything else on the Registry? 15:16:29 (nothing) 15:16:39 Topic: WebVTT 15:16:43 Subtopic: Interop update 15:17:00 Gary: We met last week and we're going to try to meet about every other week 15:17:30 ... In the last meeting, the WPT group want scoring criteria to be able to show whether we're making progress or not 15:17:47 ... The current rendering tests should cover about 75% of the score, with the other API and parsing tests being the other 25% 15:18:07 ... Rendering is the big interop issue, and that exercises the entire stack, which is helpful 15:18:48 ... The other thing, is to have people looking at the tests to see if anything is wrong, in their own time. Instead we'll spend meeting time on that, which should work better 15:18:55 q+ 15:19:20 ... Having people be able to discuss in a meeting is helpful 15:19:23 ack n 15:19:57 Nigel: It's interesting that some things are subjective, does that point to things that need to be defined objectively in the spec, or is that by design? 15:20:51 Gary: Sometimes it's unclear what the tests are trying to do, until you look into them a bit more 15:20:58 Nigel: So you don't envisage changes to the spec? 15:21:27 Gary: This interop work is identifying the tests that are definitely failing. Are the tests wrong, are the browsers rendering incorrectly, or is the spec incorrect and needs to be updated? 15:21:59 s/helpful/helpful, especially where there subjectivity involved/ 15:22:13 Nigel: Are there notes? 15:22:31 Gary: Not really, last time only a few of us joined, myself, Dana, and Romain 15:23:20 Nigel: How do people find out about the meetings? 15:23:31 Gary: In GitHub, nothing more formal 15:23:50 -> https://github.com/web-platform-tests/interop-webvtt webvtt interop github 15:24:32 Nigel: Anything more on webvt, or other topics? 15:24:37 Topic: Meeting close 15:27:28 Nigel: Thanks everyone, we've completed our agenda, let's adjourn. 15:27:52 ..
