As a browser vendor, Opera Software is naturally involved in tackling privacy challenges. On the one hand, browsers are handling all end-users' interaction with the web, and making browsing experience trusted and safe is one of the core priorities for any vendor. On the other hand, due to technology design of some of our products like Opera Mini we process a lot of non-sensitive personal data and additionally use it for improving our services. Any change to the privacy regulation and new opportunities for data processing increase our need in the more automated, legally compliant and flexible approach. Opera traditionally has been a pioneer on the web, and we still think that there are still many areas to explore. Our expectations from the upcoming workshop are to listen to expert opinions, share our best practice and discuss privacy concepts that could be developed into the standards and practical implementations. As a security and privacy director at Opera, I'm overseeing our compliance program and work closely with product departments, IT, Paweł's R&D team and other stakeholders. My professional interests are related to building security processes within informal teams, personal security and privacy. -- Michael Markevich Director of Security and Privacy Opera Software
