Approach
- Initial brand analysis
- Refined logo ideas over multiple iterations, 7 teleconferences
- At TPAC:
- Seek support from the Working Group for a proposal
- After TPAC:
- Finalize inalize designs and deliverables (formats, etc.)
- Anticipate official release of logos with Recommendation announcement
Task Force Converged on These Ideas
Proposed Policies
- W3C would trademark the logo (icon with specific colors, alone and in conjunction with words)
- Usage policy would be open; see HTML5 logo example
Broader Discussion about Merchant and User Adoption
- Button and sheet experience are linked; need to do user testing regarding logo in both places.
- Shopify's findings indicate users leave sheet; how can we increase confidence? (e.g., merchant favicon in sheet)
- Should button reflect more browser identity?
- Issue 777: Can brower manage pay buttons to improve usability and privacy?
