| emma.beer | Noel asking to be added to call and xalexopoulos |
| Phil Archer | http://w3c.github.io/dwbp/bp.html#challenges |
| Start with the 13 elements. Many BPs say they cover more than one element. Which bit of the doc applies to which element | |
| Each new BP ideally only refers to one element | |
| Otherwise you get a lot of duplication, overlap or conflict | |
| So if a BP says at the end that they do something for policies and legislation - what is it? Try taking away the other stuff in that BP so it only addresses one element | |
| It's more work to do it that way. We have to re-write each BP into multiple ones. | |
| Or we can include anchors in each BP so that we can link to specific bits | |
| Valentina | I'd like to siuggest we divide the 13 between us. So maybe I take tech aspects/formats, and then I just look for those two elements. |
| ... and then maybe Noel takes organisation | |
| Jan | WE'll have maybe 13 people -> 13 elements. Then the person for each element reads all the BPs? |
| Makx | I'd say only the ones that say they address those elements. |
| Peter Winstanley | +Q |
| ... so maybe Jan takes charging, there are only two that say they cover that element | |
| Peter | You need the context though. |
| ... We probably need a story about a situation, and a side commentray that describes where you see in that the best practice | |
| ... That's lots of work. We can't just go through and chop out a particlar BP in a lot of cases as they're so knitted to gether | |
| ... But maybe we dissect out the aspects we need. | |
| Peter | In addition to taggingk, we need to explain to the reader what it is they're looking at |
| Fatemeh | There are 2 scenarios. One is for us to pick an element and go through teh BPs that work for that. Alt is to go through those BPs and see what elements that fit. I think the second is more efficient. |
| ... The first one seems like a lot of hard work | |
| ... We may find more links | |
| Phil Archer | https://www.w3.org/2013/share-psi/wiki/Best_Practices/Publish_spatial_data_on_the_web |
| Emma | If it doesn't say which element it belongs to, should we go back to them and ask them to do it? |
| Phil Archer | http://www.w3.org/2013/share-psi/elements |
| Valentina | Techniques, formats and quality |
| emma.beer | I would be happy to do dataset criteria or commercial re-use |
| Jan Kučera | Jan Selection ano/or Organisation |
| Peter Winstanley | Makx can you copy that spreadsheet to all please |
| I'm back | |
| Sanaz | Platforms Re-Use, Selection and Organisation |
| Makx Dekkers | Makx Charging, commercial re-use |
| Harris Alexopoulos | Harris Platform |
| Peter Winstanley | Peter Persistence |
| Peter Winstanley | I'll taketh |
| Policies & Legislation - Nancy | |
| Peter Winstanley | Peter Discoverability |
| Noel | Techniques? |
| Re-use is Fatemeh and Makx | |
| Quality | Valentina |
| Documentation | Makx |
| Selection | Jan |
| So Makx- on re-use | |
| Pater | Discoverability & persistence |
| Martin | support Phil in pulling it together |
| Peter Winstanley | +1 |
| Phil; Suggest half a page per BP | |
| Makx | Plan to go through the ones I'm doing, copy a senetence or two to describe the context |
| Peter Winstanley | yes that's a good idea |
| … Anchors may not be needed | |
| ... might becvome confusing | |
| Jan | Might be useful if some of what's there provides context. |
| ... Might want to point to whole story, not just individual sentences | |
| Phil | What we have now are use cases/stories. |
| ... We then derive the terse advice/.guidance (best practice) from that | |
| Harris | it would be good if Phil could send the template and info. |
| Makx | In the BPs site on the wiki... I see the initial set, Samos, Timisoara, Google doc. Is there more? |
| Peter Winstanley | yes time is OK |
| Emma | How much are we editing? |
| makx | We're not touching what's there. We copy and re-use relevant text, perhaps with connecting text. |
| Emma | Please summarise that in the instructions e-mial |
| Makx | We're creating new small documents from what we have. |
| Harris | We have to conclude BPs from use cases. There should be a small evaluation methodology - and that needs to be described |
| ... For it's platforms, I'll examing, say 5 UCs, but how do I conclude the BPs from them, except copy and pasting the text? | |
| Valentina | Shouold there be a 1-1 mapping between BPs and the stories? |
| Makx | No, you start with the elements |
| Fatemeh | So the template is important! |
| Jan | So we're writing a total of 13 BPs? |
| makx | No. See http://w3c.github.io/dwbp/bp.html#challenges |
| jan | That makes sense |
| Makx | If we have that then we can decide if we want to go 1 step further and see if the 6 BPs for an element and see if they align. |
| … You need criteria, as Harris says, if you;re going to say which one is the best. | |
| Jan | The evaluation is something we discussed in Krems. We'll need to discuss it again in Berlin. |
| … A question for later. | |
