This is the base page of all the templates for references used in the OWL 2 documents.

How to use Reference and Citation Templates

For each reference used in our documents, there is a pair of a "reference template" and a "citation template". The reference template is put into the "References" section in the document, while the corresponding citation template is used everywhere in the document where the reference is cited.

Just select one of the existing reference templates from the list below, and add it to the "References" section in the document. For citation, use the corresponding citation template that differs from the reference template only by the prefix "cite-" instead of "ref-".

Here is an example:

A reference template:

The corresponding citation template:

How to create Reference and Citation Templates

All reference and citation templates are actually single Wiki pages with a name of the form

 References/ref-REFNAME
 References/cite-CITENAME

where "REFNAME" and "CITENAME" should (but don't have to) equal the name of the HTML ID for this reference.

A note on changing reference names:

When a reference name is changed, for example from "OWL 2 Specification" to "O2SS", it is not necessary to also change the ID of the reference, i.e. the ID may still be "ref-owl-2-specification". This allows to change reference names without touching the documents in which they are used, and without changing the Wiki pages in which they are defined.
