Biography
I am a senior fellow at the Jozef Stefan Institute, Department of Knowledge Technologies. I got my Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1988 from University of Ljubljana. I was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, visiting professor at George Mason University (VA) and at the Technical University of Vienna, and senior research fellow at the Austrian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Center for Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics.
My main research interests are in machine learning, logic-based knowledge representation and model-based reasoning. Currently, my research focus is in improving machine learning and data/text/web mining techniques by using deep, common sense knowledge.
