ISSUE-74: Should Core support only frames and omit uniterms?
Frame-only Core
Should Core support only frames and omit uniterms?
- State:
- CLOSED
- Product:
- Core
- Raised by:
- Dave Reynolds
- Opened on:

- Description:
- By default Core should support n-ary relations (uniterms) since they are in both PRD and BLD.
However, several rule languages which might otherwise be mappable to Core do not natively support uniterms but just frame-like data structures such as java-like objects (Oracle) or RDF (N3, JenaRules).
Should we consider limiting Core to just Frames, omitting uniterms, to simplify implementability in such cases?

Related notes:
At F2F11 the WG resolved to close this issue, see http://www.w3.org/2005/rules/wg/meeting/2008-09-27#resolution_7. Core will have both Predicates (with positional arguments) and Frames (no comment as yet on having membership)
