As I understand it:

\"well-formed-ness\" covers things like \"a start tag must have a
corresponding end tag\"
\"valid-ness\" covers things like \"a TR element may only occur inside a
TABLE element\"

Both of these seem like no brainers. Since valid-ness implies
well-formed-ness I don\'t think you need to explicitly mention
\"well-formed-ness\" unless you feel like it.

My proposed text:

Create documents that are valid (i.e. conform to published
formal grammars.)
