> In this case a warning should be provided and the implementation should
provide the ability for the user to select the device type in use. Where
possible the user\'s selection of a device type should persist across visits to
the implementation, but should be changeable.
>
> The warning provided while making it clear that the experience may not be
optimal for the user, should be minimally intrusive to the experience of the
information and as far as possible should be consistent with other recommendations.

Is the warning something that would go into the content? If yes, that
shoudl be made clearer.

Currently, the ability to choose is described to be provided by the
\"implementation\", which is defined earlier to be \"Web Servers,
Adaptation Devices and other components in the delivery chain\" - so is
this a BP for a content provider, or for other parts of the content chain?

Suggested rewrite
------------------

(rewriting to clarify that all the below should be in the content)

In this case, the content should include a warning and should provide
the ability for the user to select the device type in use. Where
possible the user\'s selection of a device type should persist across
visits to the implementation, but should be changeable.

The warning provided while making it clear that the experience may not
be optimal for the user, should be minimally intrusive to the experience
of the information and as far as possible should be consistent with
other recommendations.

(also should add something on this to \"how to do it\")
