User Story: Linking To A Remote Friend

Goal

Alice wants to add Bob whose home page is on another Social Network, to her list of friends

Summary

Actors

• Alice, user of Social Network A.
• Bob, user of Social Network B.

Preconditions

• Alice and Bob are not “friends” yet
• Social Network A and B need have no prior knowledge of each other
• Alice's network supports Drag and Drop
• Alice and Bob are identified by URI/URL. A global namespace is what permits such linking as well as Drag and Drop

Triggers

Basic course of events

Alice drags the home page or icon of Bob on SN B to her friends list, and Bob appears as her friend on SN A. Alice did not need to create an account on SN B.

Post-conditions

• Alice's SN now claims that she knows Bob, by adding a relation from Alice to Bob to her profile.
