OM-Definition

From Object Memory Modeling Incubator Group Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

The precise definition of an Object Memory has a strong effect on the Object Memory Model. The following attempt is based on the context of the project SemProM - other research groups might have different definitions, which should be added here. Goal would be a definition accepted across participants in the XG.

A digital object memory denotes a repository of digital data, which is linked with a physical artifact, and which is continuously enriched with data from entities that interact virtually or physically with the artifact. Technically seen, this repository may exist at the artifact itself, outside, or both. From a content point of view, it offers access to data about a history of events up to the current point of time.

Features

  • Linked with a physical artifact
  • Extensible by arbitrary entities
  • Supports data logging
