UN GDACS Virtual OSOCC | |
Summary | The Virtual On Site Operations Coordination Center is part of the Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System (GDACS). GDACS provides both a disaster alerting component (including an overview of likely humanitarian impact) and a disaster coordination component (Virtual OSOCC). GDACS is based mostly on (Geo)RSS feeds to exchange information feeds between components. Virtual OSOCC is a closed forum for professional disaster managers to exchange information on planned and past decisions and response. Virtual OSOCC is actively used by over 7000 users in most international disasters. |

Project Goals |
The WORKPAD project will focus in providing a software and communication infrastructure supporting operators during an emergency.
