Do we have a standard definitino of each level？

At the beginning of the spec is a list of stages - that's the closest we have.
There are differences in ways in which people implement synthesis, and was hard to agree on current list.


Is there commonality between semantic category based  rendering and semantic web.

There is potential but it hasn't been explored in detail.
