Related notes:

Canon insists the feature as it currently is described brings too much complication to the processing of schemas on some restricted devices. The point was understood as a potential issue. The WG recognized this issue needs to be reconciled with its benefit of compactness expected in cases when xsi:nil appears in documents. Further study and discussion is in order.

Canon was asked and agreeed to study the option of dynamically generate empty content grammars, and will get back to the group if it finds the option difficult or unnecessarily complex.

Canon supported the spec moving forward with the current mechanism
of xsi:nil unchanged. Canon, for now though, does not have plan to
implement the feature for production, however, that is not completely
conclusive.
